The choice

The choice

Tomorrow the polls will open and election day will finally be upon us. It has been a long campaign. But it all comes down to a simple choice.
The clearest choice that has been put before the British people for a generation. Between a Labour government that puts working people first, or a Tory government that works only for the privileged few. That is the choice at this election. And that is why the stakes are so high.
We can be incredibly proud of the campaign our party has run. It’s been the biggest people-driven campaign in history.
At the start of this campaign Ed Miliband challenged us to have four million conversations in four months. Last week he upped that target to five million. And today, on the final day of campaigning, we will exceed that target. An unprecedented figure for any political party.
The Labour Party will have more members, more activists, more volunteers out on the streets tomorrow than all the main parties combined. Our digital campaign has been breaking new records, bringing in small donations, and recruiting hundreds of volunteers every day – around half of whom are non-members.
People want to knock on doors for Labour. They want to talk to their neighbours for Labour. They want to fight every second for Labour.
Because we know that Britain only succeeds when working families succeed. Because we’re the ones who have a better plan - for living standards, the NHS and the next generation. So with just a few hours to go until polls open, we’re going to be out there on the doorsteps of Britain setting out the choice facing working people.
Vote Labour tomorrow - but not just for Labour. Vote for yourself and your family. To vote to reward hard work again for everyone in our country. To vote to build a future for all our young people. And to vote to rescue our NHS. Above all to vote for a country where we put working families first. That's what's on the ballot paper.
And don't vote just to reject the Conservatives but to reject their plan to put the rich and powerful first. To reject a plan to double the cuts next years and devastate our NHS. To reject a plan for a recovery that only reaches the City of London. To reject a plan that leaves young people having a worse life than their parents. We can't carry on as a country where there is one rule for a few and another rule for everyone else.
We have only a few hours left. This race is going to be the closest we have ever seen. It is going to go down to the wire.
Tell your friends, your family, your neighbours how important this is. very single person in our country could make the difference.
We have the better plan for working families. We can build a better future for Britain. All we need to do is to vote for it.
