Keeping it local is important to our community

I attended the 'Festival of the Heavy Horse show' today which was based in Millfield, just outside of Wooler.

The event offered more than just Heavy Horses on display. There was a heavy machinery display, market and craft stalls 'keeping it local' I made a few purchases.

The horse show was really interesting and the showcasing of horses was of the highest standard with excellent commentary.

It was great to see so many people celebrating some of Northumberland's finest traditions and it makes me proud that our communities can host these excellent events with the help of local businesses and organisations.

The Army Cadets have done a great job managing the flow of traffic in and out of the village making sure parking was controlled with the thousands attending the show it made a great event for families, businesses and competitors alike.

I believe that we all should try and support local events like this in the communities we live, supporting local businesses and organisations.
