Anzac Day 2014

I attended a special ceremony on Sunday to remember the 12 airmen from Australia and New Zealand who died during the Second World War whilst serving at the former RAF fighter base at RAF Acklington.

My thanks goes to Chevington Cemetery and the Newcastle branch of the RAF Association for organising this very well attended ceremony.

It makes me very proud of our local community when we host ceremonies such as this and the large numbers of people attend giving the Anzac Day the respect it deserves.
